PURPOSE:A microorganism in Rhodoseudomonas, capable of producing coinzyme Q10 and having resistance to proline analogs is cultured and the coenzyme Q10 is collected from the culture mixture whereby coenzyme Q10 is produced in high yield. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism in Rhodoseudomonas, capable of producing coenzyme Q10 and resisting proline analogs (L-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid; 3,4-dehydroproline) is cultured in an enriched medium to accumulate coenzyme Q10 in the culture mixture and the coenzyme is collected from the culture mixture. For example, a microorganism capable of producing coenzyme Q10 is used as a parent strain to effect modification ao that it becomes resistant to proline analogs or a microorganism resisting proline analogs is allowed to have capability of producing coenzyme Q10. |
