PURPOSE:To enable the use of various ribbons different in a feed amount and the control taking a high duty ratio, by performing the printing by a correctable fabric ribbon and the winding-up of the ribbon at the time of the positive rotation of a ribbon motor and performing lifting for the printing by a multicolor ribbon and the lifting of a correction ribbon at the time of the reverse rotation of said motor. CONSTITUTION:A ribbon cassette having an output ribbon and a wind-up means for winding up the ribbon received in a ribbon cassette are provided and the control means for controlling the wind-up means corresponding to the received ribbon is provided. An output part B is mounted to the slider 50 of a linear motor and moves on the slider 50 in the longitudinal direction of a platen 1 to perform printing.
