PURPOSE:To obtain improved machining efficiency and reduction of power cost in cutting work of hard-machining intermetallic compound, especially of NiTi alloy by simultaneously performing electro-chemical machining, electric discharge machining and grinding. CONSTITUTION:Three operations of electrolysis, electric discharge and grinding are employed to cut a workpiece. The cutting ratio, which can be set arbitrarily, is usually set by change of grinding stones and power supply. The power supply to the used is a DC power supply, in case electrolysis is primary, and a pulse power supply, in case electric discharge is primary. In case of a workpiece which is difficult to grind but easy to perform electro-chemical machining, anodic films formed by electrolysis are eliminated by grinding to assist proceeding of electrolysis. Thus, combined effect of these three machinings provides improved machining efficiency. |
