The invention is a system for rabbling non-solidified parts of a casting strand and comprises at least one electromagnetic stirrer. The system of the invention is unique in that a hood or thin guard (7) is designed to be placed outside of the stirrer (2) at least at the parts facing the casting strand (1). This hood or guard protects the stirrer from thermal radiation from the casting strand, splashing of warm particles and small amounts of smelt, such as steel, stemming from so-called breakout or the like.<IMAGE> |
