PURPOSE:To obtain the titled sintered alloy having a specified composition consisting of TiC, TaC, Cr, Mo, Cr3C2, Ni and WC of a proper average grain size and having superior corrosion resistance, satisfactory brazability and high hardness. CONSTITUTION:This sintered alloy for a decorative member consists of 1-5wt% TiC and/or TaC, 2-5wt% one or more among Cr, Mo and Cr3C2, 15-19wt% Ni and the balance WC of 1.0-2.0mum average grain size. The sintered alloy has high hardness such as about 1,100-1,300 hardness Hv, satisfactory corrosion resistance and brazability and is suitable for use as a material for a decorative member brazed to stainless steel. Powders of said components are blended in a prescribed ratio, mixed uniformly and press-melded after paraffin is added. The molded body is presintered at about 800 deg.C in vacuum to remove the paraffin, and it is sintered at >=about 1,300 deg.C in vacuum. Thus, the desired sintered alloy is obtd.
