PURPOSE:To enable papers to be orderly contained, by a method wherein, in a paper containing device in an automat, a paper placing plate is gradually curved from the one end on the insertion side, being about flat laminar, toward the other end formed about in a recessed shape. CONSTITUTION:With a photoelectric switch 62 made, a rubber belt 57 is conveyed round to insert a containing papers A through an insertion slot 15 between a placing plate 20 and a press plate 31 in a containing box 10. Since the placing plate 20 and the press plate 31 are gradually curved from the one ends 21 and 31b on the insertion side, being about flat laminar, toward the other end 22 formed about in a recessed shape, the paper A to be contained is curved in a direction extending right angles with an insertion direction, and this increases resistance to bending in an insertion direction, resulting in insertion of the paper without the occurrence of bending. Further, the contained paper A is also increased in resistance to bending in an insertion direction, and this eliminates the possibility of the contained paper being drawn in form bending by dint of friction with the paper A under insertion. This enables the papers to be orderly contained.
