<p>PURPOSE:In purifying a hydrocarbon decomposition product, to aim effective use of cold heat, by taking out hydrogen and methane from a process for separating and purifying hydrogen and methane, making the temperature of them low by an expander, using them effectively as a refrigerant, making the temperature of them low by another expander, and reusing them as a refrigerant. CONSTITUTION:In purifying a hydrocarbon decomposition product containing hydrogen, methane, ethylene, ethane and a high-boiling hydrocarbon component by the fed material treating process 1, the methane removal process 2 and the hydrogen-methane separating and purifying process 3, a hydrogen gas in an excess amount obtained by substracting a necessary hydrogen amount after separation and purification from the former stage of the final condensation process in the process 2 and a methane gas accompanying it are branched 40, the temperature of them is made low by the expander C-1, used as a refrigerant for at least one of the processes 1-3, part or the whole of the used refrigerant is sent to the other expander C-2 or C-3 and the temperature of the refrigerant is made low and used as a refrigerant for at least one of the processes 1-3, power for cooling the whole system is reduced and decrease in energy is aimed.</p> |
