PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a transformer winding without incresing a loss by a method wherein a wire whose width is smaller than those of the wires used in the other parts is used as the winding wire of one part of the winding close to the position where the two windings provided at the upper and lower positions along coaxial line face each other. CONSTITUTION:Windings 3a' and 3b' consist of a plurality of wires 6 with thickness (t) and width W. A part A, positioned close to the line end U of a high voltage winding 5, of the low voltage windings 3a' and 3b' consists of wire 6' which has a width W' smaller than that of the wires 6 used in the other parts. It is very effective for reducing a stray loss to have the wire with the smaller width in the part A. However, with this method, a current density at the part A increases. Therefore, the width W' of the wire 6' must be so selected as to make the summation of an ohmic loss and a stray loss equal or smaller as compared to that in the case of employing the wire 6 with the width W. |
