PURPOSE:To increase utilization of anode and cathode active materials by filling molten sodium resistant powder, molten sulfur resistant powder, or the mixture of these powder in each specified space, and arranging a graphite felt ring on the upper surface of cathode conductor. CONSTITUTION:alpha-alumina powder 13 which is resistant to molten sodium is filled in a space in the upper part of metallic fibers 9. The porosity of the space is made smaller than that in the fibers 9 to prevent penetration of anode active material 12. alpha-alumina powder 14, or particles 14, or these mixture 14 which is resistant to molten sulfur is filled in a space in the upper part of a cathode conductor 6. A graphite felt ring 15 is arranged to prevent the falling down of the material 14. Glass solder layer 16 is formed on the outer surface of a solid electrolyte tube 1. Thereby, utilization of anode and cathode active materials is increased. |
