In an upright low temperature boiler for central heating systems with a tilting burner, a flue gas collecting device is situated at the lower end of the boiler, the flue gas being led into the gas outflow pipe from the said collecting device. According to the invention, the said flue gas collecting device does not have water passing through it, so that it quickly reaches a high temperature, and therefore acidic condensates are not precipitated in it from the waste gas and/or can be retained for longer. The flue gas collecting device is made of grey cast-iron. It is releasably connected to the boiler. It can therefore be replaced if it starts to leak.
