PURPOSE:To use an inexpensive paint without providing masking by coating a combination of two kinds of chipping paints to form a composite coated film. CONSTITUTION:A site (e.g., a floor pan 1) susceptible to chipping and a site (e.g., a door outer 4) insusceptible to chipping are present adjacent to each other in an automobile body. A chipping-resistant coated film is formed on the site susceptible to chipping. The region excluding the boundary region (e.g., a locker outer 3) adjacent to the site insusceptible to chipping is coated with the first chipping paint (e.g., a polyvinyl chloride paint) by a spray gun A and the boundary region and a part of the main region adjacent to the boundary region are coated by a spray gun B with the second chipping paint (e.g., a polyurethane paint) which is different from the first chipping paint and can be excellently pulverized in coating.
