PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a high-quality glass substrate having a target composition capable of suppressing damage to a manufacturing apparatus.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a glass substrate includes a melting step ST1 for producing molten glass by melting a glass-making feedstock, an agitation step ST3 for agitating the molten glass, and a shaping step ST5 for shaping the agitated molten glass into a glass sheet. Manufacturing a glass substrate is initiated with molten glass having a composition of high devitrification viscosity or low devitrification temperature and then transferred to molten glass having a composition of low devitrification viscosity or high devitrification temperature. The composition of the molten glass is analyzed after the agitation step ST3, and manufacturing conditions in the shaping step ST5 are adjusted based on the analysis result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
