The end fitting comprises a tubular connection element 14, which is designed to be screwed into a flexible metal conduit, and a tubular mounting element 18, which makes it possible to secure the fitting to a support. The connection element and the mounting element are axially flush with each other and can rotate relative to each other, since the two are mutually joined by means of a coupling element 26, which is non-rotationally secured to the connection element, and which rotationally secures the mounting element. In order to assemble the fitting, an inner end piece of the mounting element is introduced in the constricted state into the coupling element and radially expanded by means of a mandrel which is guided through the mounting element, so that a flange 34 on the mounting element is caused to be fixed in a groove 38 in the coupling element. As an alternative, the coupling element can be expanded in corresponding manner, so that it is secured in the mounting element. <IMAGE>
