PURPOSE:To enable to detect the completion of contact of a following material to a preceding material so as to improve the quality of products, by comparing a pulse number of show a feeding speed of the following material and a pulse number to show the roller rotation of a roller table of the following material. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous line to process and dispose of a linear material, a plank, etc. continuously, is furnished a measuring roll 21 with a pulse oscillator 22, by which a pulse number of the feeding speed of a following material 2 is detected. By comparing this pulse number with a pulse number showing the roller rotation of a roller table 3 to convey the following material, the contact of the following material 2 to the preceding material 1 can be detected. As a result, generation of damages of the material to convey owing to a slip between the material and the roller table can be prevented in a low investment cost, so as to improve the quality of products.
