PURPOSE:To introduce cloth in an automated process by pressing and supporting plural pieces of cloth stacked, and drawing in and holding the free portions of the cloth by draw means, whereby pieces of cloth are reliably held one by one and installed at a fixed position. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of cloth C stacked are pressed and supported from the upper surface thereof by a support means 1, and then a draw means 2 is separated from the support means 1 to produce a space. The draw means 2 is pulled by an air cylinder 4 to draw the cloth C in the space portion, and further the cloth C is clamped by the draw means 2 and the end portion of the support means 1. A main body 9 is supported by an air cylinder 5 and moved up and down to press the cloth C. Though the air cylinder is adapted only to move the main body 9 up and down, the air cylinder 5 is further fixed to another arm to hold and transfer the cloth C. Subsequently, at a point of time the held cloth C is installed at a fixed position, a micro-switch 6 is adapted to separate the draw means 2 from the support means 1 to release the cloth C, so that the cloth can be introduced in an automated process for sewing.
