PURPOSE:To control the floating amount of a head shoe from a disk plate plane and to prevent a disk plate or magnetic head from being damaged by providing a supporting member pressing a flat spring on its one end in a direction where the head show approaches the magnetic disk plate and a fixture for fixing the other end of the supporting member. CONSTITUTION:The head shoe 2 flats from the disk plate plane 1 due to an air flow on the disk plate surface 1, which is caused by the rotation of the magnetic disk plate 1. When the spring constant of the flat spring 3 is constant and when an air velocity is high, the floating amount is larger: otherwise, it becomes small. The peripheral speed of the disk plate 1 is small and large at the inner side and at the outer side, respectively. Where the head shoe 2 lies in the outer periphery of the disk plate 1, the length of the effective flat spring 3 is shorter (l1): otherwise, it is set longer (l2), whereby the spring constants of the flat spring 3 are made larger and smaller, respectively. Thus the press to the disk plate 1 of the head shoe 2 can be controlled, and the floating amount delta from the disk plate 1 of the head shoe 2 can be approximately constant on the overall surface of the disk plate 1.
