PURPOSE:To constitute a scale of an optical switch by the reduce number of the optical switches by dividing respective bits of an optical signal into N, segmenting the respective bits by a phase corresponding to the quantity of a delay, inputting the segmented optical signal to a delay circuit of a unit of the delayed time and segmenting its output by a fixed phase. CONSTITUTION:Lights of channels 0-3 on an optical transmission passage 72 of an output of an inputting optical gate switch 51 are respectively segmented by phases 3, 2, 0, 3. Optical signals are connected by powers for 1/4 on an optical transmission passage 43 through connectors 21-23. When the optical signal inputted from the optical transmission passage 43 is segmented by the phase 3 through an outputting optical gate switch 52, all the optical signals on an optical transmission passage 73 become the phase 3 and the channel 1 is replaced by the channel 2. Accordingly, when the inputting and the outputting optical gate switches are operated by a suitable phase, an optical delay can be applied to the optical signal and two optical gate switches can be obtained.
