PURPOSE:To make it possible to display continuous measuring quantity with good accuracy and good visibility, by providing a strip like film having a display surface and moving reversibly in a display window and continuously moving the display surface through the display window corresponding to measuring quantity. CONSTITUTION:An elongated rectangular display window 1a is provided to the front surface of a meter housing 1 and graduations S are provided to the upper edge of said window 1a. Next, resin films 2 are arranged to the outer peripheries of the upper plate 11 and bottom plate 12 of the housing 1 and passed left and right by rotating film drives 37, 38 and the window is formed in a divided form so that the right half part from a point A is set to a display surface 2a and the left half part thereof is set to a blank surface 2b. When measuring quantity changes, a control circuit 5 outputs a drive signal (m) and the films 2 move by a motor 3 through the drives 37, 38 while the point A moves to the graduations position corresponding to measuring quality V to change the area of the display surface 2a appearing in the display window 1a. By this method, the measuring quantity V can be continuously displayed with good accuracy.
