This device prevents cat or dog hair from being scattered everywhere during brushing. To this end, the device comprises a brush which is connected to a sucking device, as in a vacuum cleaner. The suction device comprises an electric motor having a fan and a bag. The motor has a cable connection for feeding mains power via a socket. A rechargeable battery may be provided instead of a cable connection. The brush is exchangeable. It has appropriate passages leading to the suction chamber.
