Method for cutting a stack of veneer or similar sheet-like material for obtaining sheets of veneer etc. which are cut to size and have at least four sides, in which method the cutting device, which is mounted on a frame for moving in a direction towards and away from the stack of sheets retained between a base (E) and a pressure beam (D), is brought into engagement with the stack for cutting through it. The cutting device consists of four separate cutting members (B, B', C, C') two of which are moved through the stack from one flat side thereof for producing two opposed edge surfaces on the sheets and the remaining two cutting members of which are moved through the stack from the other flat side thereof for producing the other two opposed edge surfaces on the sheets. |
