PURPOSE:To improve the durability of the captioned mechanism and to miniaturize the whole size thereof by interconnecting the ring gear of the first planetary gear set to an input shaft at the time of the first speed stage so as to lower tangential force. CONSTITUTION:The ring gear of the first planetary gear set P11 is connected to an input shaft 1 through a clutch 11 while the sun gear of the planetary gear set P11 through a clutch 12. Further, the carrier of the second planetary gear set P12 is connected to the input shaft 1 through the clutch 12 and a clutch 14. The other side, the carrier of the first planetary gear set P11 and the ring gear of the second planetary gear set P12 are connected to an output shaft <O>. Thus, since the ring gear is connected to an input shaft at the time of the first speed, tangential force becomes lower and thereby it is possible to miniaturize the size of bearings and gears.
