The invention relates to a transport vehicle for loading, unloading and transporting containers, in particular skips or silos, having a chassis, articulated on the rear end of which is at least one swivel arm which can be swivelled about a horizontal swivel axis and has at least one securing element for the container, and having a working cylinder which acts on the swivel arm and is supported on the chassis. The object of the invention is to provide a transport vehicle which permits loading, unloading and transporting containers, in particular also loading and setting down in a predetermined position containers which are to be set down and have a relatively large height. The object has been achieved according to the invention in that the swivel arm can be rested in a vertical position against a region of a perpendicular wall of the container, in that the swivel arm has at least one extension section which can be moved in the direction of its longitudinal central axis, in that the securing element for the container is arranged on the extension section and in that the swivel arm has a drive device which moves the extension section.
