The invention relates to a compound tool for a press with a high stroke rate to the ram of which is attached a tool consisting of a moving and a fixed part. The stroke rate influences the bottom reversal point of the press ram (2). To avoid variation in the quality of the pressing operation, the pressure pin (1) is supported in the moving part (2) of the tool by means of a spring (3), the force of which is approximately two to three times that required for the pressing operation. <IMAGE>
