PURPOSE:To form a protective coating layer preventing yellowing and having improved light resistance and various favorable characteristics by using a prescribed ultraviolet-curing composition. CONSTITUTION:An ultraviolet-curing composition is composed of >=10wt% at least one kind of polyglycidyl ether of aromatic polyol such as glycidyl ether of bisphenol A, 20-70wt% at least one kind of polyglycidyl ester of polybasic acid such as diglycidyl ester of phthalic acid and 5-15wt% at least one kind of cationic polymn. initiator such as aromatic onium salt. When the composition is used to form a protective coating layer on a photographic material coated with a photosensitive emulsion, the composition can be cured with an ultraviolet lamp having small output and the resulting protective coating layer has improved water resistance during immersion in water and an improved adhesive property to the photographic image layer. The coating layer prevents yellowing and also has improved light resistance and various favorable characteristics. |
