PURPOSE:To enable multi-column printing without interposing a host system by providing a setting means for setting the kinds of multi-column recording and a page-number recording control means for controlling the timing when page numbers are recorded in response to the kinds of the recording. CONSTITUTION:A control section 1 constituted of a microcomputer, a program memory, etc. analyzes code data transmitted in a predetermined data form from an external device and allows a printing head 3 to conduct printing through a printing driver 2. One page number is printed at every one page on printing such as dual-column printing in response to the kinds of multi- column printing, and page number is each printed at every block in a page memory on French style printing, thus printing-outputting multi-column printing with page numbers by approximately the same control function as single column printing without undergoing the control of a host system. |
