Ceramic burner for gas, partic. for combustion chamber of a hotblast stove of a blast furnace, boosts mixing action and improves homogeneity of the gas/air mixt. to achieve more complete combustion. It has parallel vertical supply ducts for the gas and air. First duct opens upwards at a first outlet which is substantially oblong in plan and second one opens at a number of second outlets which are on either side of and above the first outlet General discharge directions of the second outlet are oblique to that of the first outlet. To improve mixing, first outlet has a slot shape and has a number of recesses at its long sides, extending towards the second outlets.
