SYSTEM FOR STOP-MOTION PLAYBACK OF RECORDED VIDEO SIGNALS

A video signal and an audio signal to accompany a stop-motion frame of video are recorded on a disc with one frame occupying each track or revolution of the disc. The stop-motion audio is combined with the continuous play video signal and recorded on a first portion of the disc. During replay of the continuous motion video the stop-motion audio is stored. During repeated repaly of the stop-motion frame the audio signal is read out from the store. Pref. the stop-motion audio is converted to digital form and compressed before being combined with the video signal.
