PURPOSE:To realize a thin type battery without fluid electrolyte, by furnishing a groove route linking to the outside of a battery jar at a part of the jar which consists of thin plastic films housing a set of electrode plates, in order to exhaust gas and prevent an invasion of the outer air. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode plate 1, a separator 2, and a positive electrode plate 3 are housed in a battery jar 4 of flexible and thin plastic films 5 and 5', and the peripheral components 6, 6', 6'', and 6''' of the jar 4 are welded by heating. Moreover, the inside 7 of an end of the jar 4 is also welded to make a groove route 8 attached to the films, opening its one end 8' inside a space 9 in the cell and the other end 8'' outside the jar 4. Then the electrode plates 1 and 3, and the separator 2 are impregnated with and maintain an electrolyte, and they are covered by a frame body 12 to form an enclosed lead storage battery. The gas is exhausted in a compressed condition of the cell by expanding the groove route 8, and the outer air is prevented from invasion in a low pressure condition by closing the route 8. Therefore, the jar 4 can be made thin, and a thin type enclosed battery without fluid electrolyte is realized. |
