PURPOSE:The titled lining agent that contains a combination of a solution of an aminosalicylic acid-modified a hydrophobic group-bearing vinyl monomer- maleic acid copolymer with a specific zirconium chelate, thus showing increased adhesion to dentine. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive lining material for dental purposes which is composed of (A) preferably a copolymer from a vinyl compound bearing hydrophobic groups and maleic acid in which 10-60mol% of maleic acid is modified with aminosalicylic acid [the molar ratio of the vinyl compound to the maleic acid is (0.4-0.8):(0.6-0.2)] (B) a solution of a compound of the formula (R1 is CH3, OCH3, OCH2CH3; R2 is 2-10C alkoxy; n is 2, 3, 4), preferably tetrakis- or dibutoxy-zirconium bis-(acetylacetonate). Thus, the material well adheres to dentine to form durative coating layer. Thus, it prevents tooth pulp from being irritated, when the composite is repaired.
