PURPOSE:To make it possible to conduct an efficient operation control by converting a detection signal of water level detection means to compute a latent heat storage quantity, computing sensible heat storage quantity from water level detection means to continuously detect the totals heat storage quantity of the heat storage tank. CONSTITUTION:A water level meter 9 inserted into a water 7 within a heat storage tank 2 inputs constantly and continuously the increase in a water level caused by the forming of ice 8 to a microcomputer 11 with a reference value O as a state where ice is not formed around the outer periphery of a cooling pipe of an ice-making heat exchanger 2b. An ice forming quantity, that is, an ice-making quantity is calculated from the water level in a tank body 2a of the heat storage tank 2 which level is inputted therein beforehand, and a latent heat storage quantity is calculated from the ice-making quantity. The sensitive heat quantity of water 7 within the heat storage tank 2 is computed from a signal from the temperature detecting end 10a of a water temperature sensor 10. The latent heat storage quantity and the sensible heat storage quantity are totallized, and the total heat storage quantity in the heat storage tank 2 is detected continuously. The obtained value in the heat storage tank 2 is outputted as a current signal and sent into the control system of a heat source. Thus, the ice storage operation and the space cooling operation are carried out efficiently.
