<p>PURPOSE:To enhance effectiveness in sheet feeding operation and shorten the time by allowing a sheet sensing means to sense if there is any sheet, before a sheet counting means counts the number of fed sheets, interrupting sheet feeding, allowing a sheet feed operation control means to resume sheet feed when refill is sensed, and thereby quickening resumption of the sheet feed operation. CONSTITUTION:In case the quantity in a counter (i) as a number-of-sheets counting means does not correspond to the number of copied sheets N, it shall be judged whether there are any sheets in the sheet feed part, and if not, the motor is stopped and an out-of-sheets warning lamp 40 is lighted, and also a timer (T) is turned on and the contents of the memory area M1 are stored in the memory area M4. Thereafter it shall again be judged whether there are sheets, and if not and the timer (T) is not in time up, sheets refill is awaited within a certain period of time. In case sheets are refilled and a sheet sensor 28 has sensed sheet, a sheet size sensor 27 senses the size S1 of the sheets refilled, to be followed by comparison of this size S1 with the stored sheet size CS, and if they correspond, the copying operation interrupted is resumed immediately.</p> |
