<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate separation of electrodeposited iron on a cathode, increase thickness thereof more than conventional one and to improve productivity, by providing rotary drum being the cathode having a specified structure, in the title apparatus providing a rotary drum cathode. CONSTITUTION:Consumable anodes 3 of soft steel, pure iron, etc., are arranged in an electrolytic cell 1 fed with an electrolyte 2 contg. ferrous ion, the rotary drum cathode 4 made of stainless steel is set between them, electricity is conducted while revolving the cathode 4 around a revolving shaft 5 as center to electrodeposit iron on surface of the cathode 4. In this case, the cathode 4 is made to square pillar state and electrodepositing surface separators 6 made of nonconductive or low conductivity material of plastic such as polypropylene or polyethylene or rubber are provided along edge line of side of polysquare pillar. By existence of the separators 6, electrolytic iron can easily be separated from cathode even if the thickness of electrodeposited iron on cathode surface is increased, and productivity of electrolytic iron by a long time operation is improved.</p> |
