PURPOSE:To enable retrieval even when it is a small scale retrieval, when the retrieval to reclaim a circuit diagram inputted already is performed by storing a retrieving file at a storage device attaching a feature on a password from the picture of the circuit diagram. CONSTITUTION:As for the circuit diagram inputted from an input device 5 and a CRT6, circuit diagram groups 8a-8c stored at a disk 7, and a bit of circuit diagram information are accumulated. In the meantime when the bit of diagram information is accumulated, files 9a-9c corresponding to the circuit diagrams are generated within the disk 7. The retrieval when a registered electric circuit diagram registered and inputted in a computer aided design CAD is reclaimed out of the registered circuit diagram groups 8a-8c can be performed from any password in the description of an owner name, etc., a performance description, or the description of IC parts in the circuit diagram at the files 9a-9c. The files 9a-9c are the files on which a password description is attached, and in which the feature to retrieve the circuit diagram constituted with a small scale or a medium scale IC constitution is attached on the password.
