PURPOSE:To enable dots with a normal shape to be recorded on a transfer recording paper poor in surface smoothness and on a film having low affinity to an ink and prevent smearing of characters, by a construction wherein a part of a magnetic member at which a magnetic closed circuit is constituted of a magnetic attracting force generating means is made discontinuous. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic attracting force generating means 15 comprises a magnetic closed circuit constituted of a magnetic material, a part of which is made discontinuous by providing a projection or the like, thereby obtaining a leak magnetism. A thermoplastic magnetic ink and a transfer recording medium do not make contact with each other at a non-recording part 12 of the ink (FM denotes a magnetic attraction vector). Accordingly, since a recording part of the ink is deformed or caused to fly to achieve transfer of the ink irrespective of the shape of the transfer recording medium, record dots with a normal shape can be obtained with favorable transfer efficiency even on a transfer recording medium having a poor surface smoothness such as a rough paper or in the case of forming record dots, particularly, small-area dots in a high density. In addition, since the non-recording part of the ink does not make contact with the transfer recording medium, smearing of characters will not occur. |
