PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrahigh pressure generator extremely excellent in durability by making stress concn. hard to generate, by providing an anvil leading end as a separate body and removing the corner part of the inner surface of a cylinder and further finely limiting the shape of said inner surface. CONSTITUTION:An anvil piece 12 of small size is provided as a separate body and arranged to a base stand 11 through a metal sheet 13 to constitute an anvil 1 and a cut-off land 14, wherein an angle of inclination in a horizontal direction is 15 deg. or more and C/Da>1/10 is formed, is provided to the peripheral part of the leading end of the base stand 11. A cylinder 2 having the inclined surfaces 2a each corresponding to the inclined surface 1a of the anvil 1 formed to both upper and lower end parts thereof is constituted so that the specimen processing part 21 thereof is formed into an elongated shape represented by formula I and a corner part where a straight part 22 and an inclined surface cross to each other is removed under a condition represented by formulae II, III. By the above-mentioned constitution, even under a severe condition performing the synthesis or sintering of diamond or cubic boron nitride, an ultrahigh pressure generator excellent in durability and having long life is obtained. |
