PURPOSE:To surely quench over the whole circumferences of a journal shaft or a pin part contg. a fillet part, by reciprocatively vibrating a plasma arc jetted from a jetting hole slanted to shaft line of the journal shaft or the pin part by AC magnetic field generated by a yoke. CONSTITUTION:Top parts of the plasma torches 7A, 7B are stood in a recess part 6 of a crank shaft 1 and the shaft 1 is revolved around shaft. A W electrode 12 and the shaft 1 as the other electrode are connected to DC electrode, operating gas is allowed to flow 13, further AC magnetic field is generated at the yoke 20. As the result, operating gas is made plasmatic by discharge caused between the shaft 1 and the electrode 12, and the high temp. and speed plasma arc 21 is blasted from the jetting hole 15 of a nozzle tip 10 to the fillet parts 17a, 17b of the journal shaft 2. For applying AC magnetic field generated by the yoke 20 to the arc 21, it is reciprocatively vibrated in the shaft 12 direction to quench from the parts 17a, 17b to even the part to center of the shaft 2.
