PURPOSE:To obtain a ferrous sintered alloy for valve seat excellent in wear resistance and reduced in the attach upon a valve as an opposite material, by uniformly dispersing alloy grains and a solid lubricant which have specific compositions, respectively, in a ferrous-alloy matrix having a specific composition as well. CONSTITUTION:The ferrous sintered alloy for valve seat has a composition in which the alloy grains composed of Co alloy containing, by weight ratio, 10-70% Cr, 5-20% W, 5-20% Mo, <=20% Fe, and 0.5-3% C and the solid lubricant consisting of one or more kinds among CaF2, MoS2, and MnS are uniformly dispersed by 5-25% and 0.2-3%, respectively, in the matrix consisting of ferrous alloy containing 1-20% of one or more elements among Cr, Mo, V, and Mn and 0.5-2% C. The ferrous sintered alloy of this invention has above-mentioned characteristics, so that is can be most suitably used for valve seat.
