PURPOSE:To obtain a stereoscopic picture to the natural view of the both eyes of an observer with a comparatively simple constitution by using a flat lattice plate having plural lattices formed with a constant interval between themselves, and dividing a picture to be displayed into plural picture elements. CONSTITUTION:An observer in front of a television receiver viewing the scanning lines projected on a signal display surface 3 through the vertically streak lattice plate 1, can onserve that respective partial lattices 4 have different lattice intervals. When the lattice interval of the plate 1 is P0 and that of the partial lattices 41-45 generated by the scanning lines of the television set is Pi(i=1-5), the optical image that comes from the partial lattices 4 through the lattice plate 1 in front of the surface 3 appears, to the both eyes of an observer viewing the cathode-ray tube 2 from a certain distance, as if came from a position farther than the display plane 3 by a distance D because of the diffraction effect. Accordingly, by changing the intensity of scanning beams 8 and the length of Pi as complying with stereoscopic information to be displayed, a stereoscopic picture can be provided to the eyes of the observer. |
