PURPOSE:To form a flame-retardant adhesive compsn. which has excellent adhesion and workability and allows the flexibility of org. resins to be retained, by blending a specified flame-retardant polyester resin with an epoxy resin and a curing agent. CONSTITUTION:This flame-retardant adhesive compsn. is formed from the following flame-retardant polyester resin (A), epoxy resin (B) and curing agent (C). (A): a copolyester wherein 20-50mol% of its acid component is composed of a structural unit having the formula (wherein R is a 1-6C alkylene group or a 6-12C arylene group; and R1 is a 1-6C alkyl group or a 6-12C aryl group) in the chain molecule. Examples of the acid component having a structure of the formula are phosphorus compds. capable of well condensing during the polymn. of polyester, such as carboxyphosphinic acids and cyclic anhydrides thereof. As the epoxy resin, epoxy resins contg. no halogen or halogenated epoxy resins are used either alone or as a mixture thereof. As the curing agent, acid anhydrides are preferred from the viewpoint of heat resistance.
