PURPOSE:To prevent a power source from being left ON, by providing a battery as the power source, using a dust cover as a paper guide and controlling the supply of source power from the battery by an output from a means for detecting the opening and closing of the dust cover. CONSTITUTION:When printing, a dust cover 1 is disposed in an opened position, while a printing paper 2 is inserted with the cover 1 as a paper guide, is wrapped around a platen 3, and is printed by a printing head 4. After printing is finished, the cover 1 is closed to a position for containing. This condition is detected by a detecting circuit 5, and source power from a battery is cut off. Even if a power switch is turned ON to apply the source power, the source power is not applied under this condition. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the power switch from being left ON and to prevent the battery from being discharged due to an erroneous operation at the time of containing a printer. |
