<p>The invention relates to a releasable coupling between a male element and a female element. The coupling comprises a split clamp ring (20) that is arranged to be received in corresponding annular recesses (13, 16,) in said male element (10) and said female element (12) whereby said ring (20) shall have one wedge surface to engage with a support surface in one recess (13, 69) on the male element (10) and another wedge surface, obliquely disposed from said first wedge surface, to engage with a support surface in said other recess (16, 72) in said female element (12). By applying an external, circumferentially directed force to the end portions of said split ring (20) it will be possible to achieve a locking engagement between said ring (20) and its matching recesses, thus assembling said male and female elements to each other.</p> |
