PURPOSE:To obtain an area CCD sensor having the number of different picture elements of four kinds by one area CCD sensor by constituting a transfer section transferring signal charges of two vertical transfer sections and two horizontal transfer sections in the area CCD sensor. CONSTITUTION:Two vertical transfer sections 2, 3 have the same structure, the first vertical transfer sections 2 are driven by two-phase drive pulse phiV1A, phiV2A applied to terminal 7-1a, 7-2a, and the second vertical transfer sections 3 are driven by two-phase drive pulses phiV1B, phiV2B applied to terminals 8-1b, 8-2b. Two horizontal transfer sections 4, 5 have the same structure, the first horizontal transfer section 4 is driven by two-phase drive pulses phiH1A, phiH2A applied to terminals 9-1a, 9-2a, and the second horizontal transfer section 5 is driven by two-phase drive pulses phiH1b, phiH2B applied to terminals 10-1b, 10-2b. Accordingly, the terminals 7-1a and 8-1b and the terminals 7-2a and 8-2b for the vertical transfer sections 2, 3 are connected, and the terminals 9-1a and 10-1b and the terminals 9-2a and 10-2b for the horizontal transfer sections 4, 5 are connected, thus constituting an area CCD sensor having the number of horizontal picture elements of H and the number of vertical picture elements of V. |
