PURPOSE:To prevent the loss of an incident electron beam going through a hole, to prevent the burn through of the unweld zone of a base metal and a wire and to improve the quality of a weld zone, by performing a caldera oscillation at the electron beam welding time. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam 1 is oscillated by rotating it around Z axis with oscillating it at high speed in X direction(or Y direction), in case of welding of filling up a hole 3 made on a niobium plate 2 by feeding a wire 4 from the electron beam 1. The welding is performed so as to show the caldera oscillation that the energy density distribution is high at the peripheral part and low at the center part. In this way the niobium plate 2 and wire 4 can well be welded without being unmelted at the weld zone.
