PURPOSE:To provide a mechanism, which fits a hatch cover into a hatch, and to reduce a wind pressure during sailing further to increase a loading area on an upper deck, by vertically movably supporting the hatch cover for the hatch further providing guide tracks on the ship side upper deck still further drawing out the hatch cover on said tracks. CONSTITUTION:When a hatch is opened, first a hatch cover 1 is lifted protruding from a deck 2 by driving a hydraulic jack 5. Next the hatch cover 1, if a pinion 8 meshed with a rack 10 below the hatch cover 1 is driven, moves on the upper deck 2 toward the ship side rolling a rolling wheel 11 on guide grooves 6, 6a, and the hatch cover stops being adapted to a stopper 7. In this way, the hatch is fully opened. And next, when the hatch is closed, the hatch cover 1, which is moved to a hatch opening part by driving the pinion 8, supports a sliding groove 1a to a head part metal fixture 5a of the hydraulic jack 5. Subsequently, if the hydraulic jack 5 is contracted, the hatch cover 1 is fitted into the hatch forming the same surface to the upper deck 2.
