PURPOSE:To prevent amount of effective-use energy from decreasing, by utilizing excessive fuel in a fuel cell itself as the fuel for a heating device so that a rated operation of a reformer is performed to increase the recovery quantity of exhaustion heat even if power load is lowered. CONSTITUTION:Even if power load is lowered, a rated operation of a reformer is performed so that excessive fuel is partially burnt in a burner 6 of the reformer and then the heat needed for a reforming reaction in the reformer 4 is supplied. The remaining excessive fuel is burnt in a heating device 10 to further heat the cooling water obtained by heat recovery in a heat-recovery heat exchanger 9 equipped on a line returning to a steam separator 7 in a battery circulation cooling water line so that steam or high-temperature water can be produced with high quality. The exhaustion gas for combustion in the heating device 10 is mixed with the exhaustion gas in the reformer 4 and the battery excessive air, and then heat recovery of high-temperature and low- temperature water is performed from this mixed gas. Though the reformer has no heat cycling because of its rated operation, a decrease in the amount of hydrogen consumed in this cell enables the cell to be operated with the combustion a little used. |
