PURPOSE:To improve the productivity and to uniformize the magnetic flux in the breadthwise direction of tracks by sticking metallic magnetic thin films on a pair of magnetic material substrates and allowing metallic magnetic thin films to face each other to form a magnetic gap in the direction approximately orthogonally to magnetic material substrates. CONSTITUTION:Metallic magnetic films 3 are stuck onto a pair of magnetic material substrates 11 and are allowed to abut each other to form a magnetic gap 5, and the direction of the magnetic gap 5 is approximately orthogonal to magnetic material substrates 11. Two divided blocks placed on diagonal lines out of four blocks divided by metallic magnetic films 3 and the magnetic gap 6 on the medium slide face of a head consist of magnetic material substrate 11, and two other blocks consist of nonmagnetic materials 7. Thus, the joint surface between metallic magnetic thin films and oxide magnetic materials is made widen to uniformize the intensity of magnetic field on the gap.
