The apparatus for the offset division of plate-like workpieces has a rip saw (10) and a supporting table (8) which is assigned to said saw and is pivotable about a vertical axis (9) in its plane, so that said supporting table can be positioned with two adjacent edges alternately on the rip saw. Furthermore, a feed-in unit (6) and a loading device (3) for the plate-like workpieces are provided. To simplify the apparatus compared with other known apparatuses of this type and to increase its efficiency, there is arranged, seen in the working direction upstream of the supporting table (8) of the rip saw (10), an aligning table (4) which is displaceable transversely to the cutting plane (E) of said rip saw and has aligning projections (5) which are adjustable in height with respect to the supporting plane of the aligning table (4) and are adjustably mounted in the supporting plane of said table (4). The supporting plane of the aligning table (4) is, furthermore, so designed that the plate-like workpieces can be easily displaced in two mutually perpendicular directions. <IMAGE>
