PURPOSE:To obtain a mass-producible and semitransparent artificial marble without cracking, by hot-molding a composition consisting of aluminum hydroxide, styrene polymer having a specific particle diameter, etc., in an unsaturated polyester resin. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. unsaturated polyester resin is blended with (A) 6-50pts.wt. styrene polymer having 2-100mum average particle diameter and preferably 10,000-20,000 number-average molecular weight, (B) 50-250pts.wt. aluminum hydroxide having preferably 1-20mum average particle diameter and (C) 1-3pts.wt. curing agent and the resultant blend is then molded by hot mold ing. |
