<p>The invention relates to a supercharged internal combustion engine with a first bypass line bypassing the turbine of the exhaust turbocharger, in the course of which line a charging pressure control valve is arranged, which is actuated below a predetermined flow rate limit of the compressor according to a predetermined set of charge pressure characteristics. In order to still obtain an acceptable delivery even in higher speed ranges when using an exhaust turbocharger of relatively small dimensions, the internal combustion engine has a second bypass line, bypassing the compressor, with a second bypass valve arranged in the course of the said line, the said valve being closed below the flow rate limit and opened above the said limit. Furthermore, the first bypass valve is likewise opened above the flow rate limit.</p> |
