摘要 PURPOSE:To extinguish residual flame early and furthermore provide a strength against external shocks by tightly connecting the connection faces of a flame quenching grid made by combining metal strips and a narrow gap plate made by laminating several expanded metal plates. CONSTITUTION:A flame quenching grid 1 fixes in a frame body 12 which is to be mounted on an explosion-proof vessel 3 a flame quenching grid main body 10 made by combining metal strips 11 of, for example, iron, etc., in grid shape. And, a narrow gap plate 2 is constituted by laminating a plurality of expanded metal plates 20 which are together in tight contact and fixing them in one body. When the narrow gap explosion-proof structural material with the above-mentioned constitution is mounted on the explosion-proof vessel 3 and gas of an explosive concentration is made to explode as it flows at a high speed in the explosion-proof vessel 3, the supply of gas for local flames from the outside of the vessel is obstructed by the strips 11 in grid shape, and residual flames do not last long but are extinguished. In this case the smaller the pitch of the grids in the flame quenching grid 1 is, the better the effects of flame quenching becomes.
